How to Use Squarespace and HoneyBook to Create an Elevated Client Experience

As a designer who works closely with women in service-based businesses, one of the things I talk about often is how important it is to have systems that feel clear and supportive behind the scenes.

Your website is your home base, but your client management tool is what holds everything together once people start reaching out, booking calls, and becoming clients.

I am not someone who recommends a tool just because it is popular. I like to try things, understand how they work, and see if they genuinely support the way we work as women who are balancing clients, families, creativity, and everything in between.

So when almost every course I took mentioned the same two platforms, Dubsado and HoneyBook, I decided to test both. Not from a tech-first perspective, but from a “does this make sense for my business and the women I serve” perspective.

And after trying each one, HoneyBook was the platform that felt the most aligned and here’s why.

  • I liked that the design felt clean and intuitive.

  • I liked that it did not take weeks to learn.

  • I liked that it connected seamlessly to my Squarespace website, so new leads flowed directly into one place.

  • And I really liked how simple it was to send proposals, invoices, contracts, and scheduling links without jumping between multiple tools.

A bonus is that the form builder feels very similar to Squarespace’s native form style, which makes the client experience smooth and cohesive. Everything looks intentional, consistent, and on brand > all things that I value when running my business.

One feature that I appreciate is having all leads in one place, I am able to create a proposal easily from a template I’ve already created, and I can send my contracts and invoices with a click of a button.

For me, that level of clarity matters. And I know it matters to the women I work with, too.

We do not need complicated systems or overly technical workflows. We need tools that help us stay organized, look professional, and support the kind of business we are building.

And honestly, people have complimented my intake process. Full on “wow, this is so smooth” messages. I always laugh because I am like, “Yes, girl, that’s HoneyBook doing its thing.”

This is why I am confident recommending it to other women in service-based businesses who want the inside workings of their business to feel just as aligned and intentional as the brand that they are building.

What Service-Based Women Actually Need From Their Systems

One thing I have learned from working with women in service-based businesses is this: we do not need systems that try to do everything and more. We need systems that support the way we actually run our businesses and live our lives.

Most of us are wearing multiple hats.

We are the service provider, the marketer, the bookkeeper, the creative, the admin person, and the strategist. And while we can and do handle a lot at any time, we need the support of tools that make things smoother and easier to run our businesses.

We need tools that make things feel lighter and easier.

When I talk to women about the behind the scenes of their business, the same needs come up over and over again:

One place for all the things
A place where everything lives together so nothing gets lost. Leads, clients, proposals, invoices, emails, conversations… all in one spot so you are not digging through apps or trying to remember where something went.

A simple next step for clients
You want people to know exactly how to inquire or book with you, without confusion, without back-and-forth messages, and without needing to explain the process twenty times.

A professional first impression
Something that feels clean, cohesive, and put together, the kind of experience that makes someone think, “Wow, she knows what she’s doing,” before you even get on a call.

A flow that feels smooth
From the moment someone fills out your form to the moment they pay their invoice, you want things to make sense, feel easy, and not require you to manually piece everything together.

Less mental load
Because your brain should not be the place holding every to-do, follow-up, invoice, and detail. Your brain should be free to enjoy the next Love Is Blind episode or finally try that new chocolate chip cookie recipe you saved last week. Which reminds me, this is my FAVOURITE chocolate chip cookie recipe, like I make it weekly for the kids’ lunches, and sneak a few for myself after the kids head to bed… shhh. don’t tell them.

Ease over complexity
You want tools that feel intuitive, not overwhelming. Tools you can actually use without hours of tutorials or feeling like you’re behind.

Squarespace and HoneyBook meet those needs beautifully. One supports your online presence. The other supports your clients.

And together, they create a business that feels calmer, clearer, and more aligned with the way you want to work.

Why Squarespace Works So Well for Service Based Businesses

Squarespace gives you a clean, modern website that feels polished and professional right from the start. It lets your brand shine without layers of tech or complicated setup. Your services are clear. Your story is clear. Your client journey is clear.

And clarity is what converts.

The women I work with also love that they can make small updates on their own. Swapping photos, changing prices, adding testimonials, posting blogs, or updating their services never feels intimidating.

And honestly, there is something so empowering about being able to update your own website without having to wait on someone else or worry that you’ll “break” something.

This is why I believe that Squarespace supports service based business models beautifully.
From scheduling links to inquiry forms to SEO friendly blogs, everything is built to help people understand who you are, what you offer, and how to work with you.

It is the perfect foundation, especially when paired with a system like HoneyBook.

Sample Squarespace and HoneyBook WorkFlow

Here’s the exact flow for how I use Squarespace and Honeybook in my business.

1 - Inquiry Form
My contact form on Squarespace connects directly to HoneyBook, so every lead is organized instantly.

2 - Book a Call
After potential clients fill out my booking inquiry form (where I gather more information about their website and business goals so I am prepared for our call) they are automatically directed to book a call with me.

Once the call is booked in my calendar, they are automatically sent an email letting them that I received their inquiry.

3 - Proposals and Payments
Once we’ve decided on their design dates(s), I send over a custom proposal (for full custom websites), a contract and invoice

I love that I am able to use repeatable templates that I customize for each client because that is a HUGE TIMESAVER!

Is Squarespace and HoneyBook the Right Fit for You?

From my experience, this pairing works best for women who:

  • run service based businesses

  • are already using multiple tools to onboard clients

  • want to create a polished client experience

  • prefer simple, supportive tools rather than heavy automations

This pairing may not be the best fit for large ecommerce businesses or anyone needing very complex, custom automations.

If you are a service based woman who values clarity, ease, alignment, and a thoughtful client journey, the Squarespace plus HoneyBook combination is one of the simplest and most supportive setups you can choose.

How to Get Started Without Feeling Overwhelmed

If you want to try Squarespace and HoneyBook together, the easiest place to start is with one simple step.

Add a lead form to your website.
That alone will help you keep your inquiries organized inside HoneyBook.

If you want to take it one step further, you can redirect the form to your scheduler so someone can fill out your form and book a call in one smooth flow.

If you want to try HoneyBook, here is the link I share with clients for 30% off your first year.

And when you’re ready for deeper support, I’d love to help you design a website that feels like home for your brand — one that reflects your story, your energy, and your rhythm.
